    What we do

    The firm of Mason, Mason & Albright has been in continuous operation, primarily through the Mason family since prior to the Civil War. One of its clients was Mark Twain.

    The firm handles practically all types of Proceedings in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in the courts relating to patents and trademarks, including patent and trademark Infringement cases, Interference/Opposition/Cancellation Proceedings, Appeals for both patent and trademark cases, and the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications. It also obtains copyrights for clients upon request and provides advice and counseling on copyright Infringement matters.

  A substantial portion of its practice involves representation of foreign manufacturers in obtaining U.S. patents and trademarks and obtaining foreign patents and trademarks, via foreign counsel, throughout the world for U.S. clients. The firm has working relationships with foreign counsel that specialize in intellectual property in practically every country in the world.

  Mason, Mason & Albright also represent individual inventors in patent matters including advice, preparing and prosecuting Patent Applications and licensing matters. More recently the firm's practice has focused on trademark procurement both domestic and international trademarks including domain name dispute litigation and negotiations. Our lawyers have represented both Complainants and Respondents and obtained favorable decisions under the newly instituted ICANN arbitration policy. Our location in the Eastern District of Virginia provides jurisdictional benefits for litigating domain names registered with Network Solutions, Inc.

Trademark Filings - Customary Service Fee - $475.00; reduced fee $250.00*,    includes client intake and opening file, preparation and filing of new application; reviewing and correcting filing receipts as needed, docketing and forwarding initial office action and reporting letters.

Copyright Filings - Customary Service Fee - $200.00; reduced fee $85.00*

Patent Filings - All patent filings are based on our regular hourly rates.
